Health, Safety, Security, and Environment

At CLT Marine, our dedication to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) is paramount, not only as a compliance measure but as a core value that underpins every aspect of our operations. Our comprehensive Health and Safety Plan reflects our ongoing commitment to safeguarding our employees, clients, and the environment. This document serves to outline our rigorous HSSE procedures, demonstrating our position as a professional and forward-thinking company in the logistics and transportation sector.

Leadership and Commitment

  • Management Involvement: Our executive team leads by example, actively engaging in HSSE strategy sessions, policy formulation, and review processes. This top-down approach ensures that HSSE considerations are integrated into corporate decision-making and operational planning.

  • Employee Engagement: We cultivate an organizational culture where safety and environmental responsibility are shared values. Regular town halls, safety meetings, and feedback channels empower employees to voice concerns, suggest improvements, and stay informed about HSSE policies.

Risk Management

  • Hazard Identification and Control: Utilizing advanced risk assessment tools, we systematically identify potential hazards in our operations. This process involves regular worksite inspections, job hazard analyses, and the application of preventive measures such as safety barriers and personal protective equipment.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Our emergency response plans are comprehensive, covering scenarios like spill response, fire outbreaks, and medical emergencies. Regular drills and simulations ensure that our teams are well-prepared to respond effectively and efficiently.

Health and Safety Training

  • Continuous Learning: We invest in extensive training programs covering operational safety, emergency response, and environmental awareness. These programs are tailored to different job roles and include both theoretical and practical components.

  • Certification and Compliance: All training initiatives align with national and international standards. Employees receive certifications upon completion, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Environmental Protection

  • Sustainable Practices: Our commitment to environmental protection is evident in our operations. We use energy-efficient equipment, adopt fuel-saving strategies in transportation, and prioritize the use of renewable resources wherever feasible.

  • Waste Management: We follow strict protocols for waste segregation, recycling, and disposal. Our waste management strategy minimizes environmental impact and promotes the conservation of natural resources.

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

  • Data-Driven Approach: Key performance indicators (KPIs) are established to monitor HSSE aspects. Data collected from various operations are analyzed to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement.

  • Audits and Reviews: Regular internal and external audits are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of our HSSE policies. These reviews facilitate ongoing improvements and ensure compliance with evolving standards and regulations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Through active dialogue with clients, suppliers, and regulatory agencies, we ensure our HSSE practices not only meet but often exceed industry standards. This collaborative approach fosters a shared commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.

SECURITY
Drug and Alcohol Policy

At CLT Marine, we prioritize the safety and professionalism of our operations, which is reflected in our strict Zero Tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy. This policy is fundamental to our commitment to a safe, productive, and drug-free workplace. To ensure compliance with this policy, our employees undergo random, unannounced drug and alcohol testing, conducted by an external, impartial contractor. This testing includes a comprehensive screening for prohibited substances such as amphetamines, marijuana, opiates, cocaine, phencyclidine (PCP), and alcohol. In line with our uncompromising commitment to safety, any employee found violating this policy faces immediate termination. Furthermore, we provide educational resources and support to our employees, fostering a culture of safety and responsibility. Our policy not only aligns with maritime safety regulations and industry best practices but also sets a higher standard for operational safety and employee well-being in our field. Through this policy, CLT upholds its dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards in all aspects of our operations.
